On the occasion of the opening of Alexander Kluge – The Power of Music The Opera – Temple of Seriousness

The kunsthalle weishaupt and the Museum Ulm are realising a joint project with Alexander Kluge on the occasion of his many years of collaboration with the HfG Archive and the 50th anniversary of the Theater Ulm.

The theme is the power of music, which experiences a special expression in opera. Today, in a world of algorithms, less and less attention is being paid to the emotional power of touching socially relevant themes in musical theatre.

Alexander Kluge stages an exhibition of film, art, science and literature in a museum setting that takes a new look at the phenomenon of opera and lends it contemporary relevance.

Collaborative works with Georg Baselitz, Thomas Demand, Katharina Grosse, Anselm Kiefer, Sarah Morris and Anna Viehbrock are part of this exhibition.
